Job Description – Quality Engineer

Position Summary

The Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting and improving all aspects of the Quality Management System (QMS) through inspection, auditing, problem-solving, and process improvement activities. This role will focus on ensuring product conformance, reducing scrap, supporting production teams, and maintaining compliance with customer, internal, and regulatory requirements. The Quality Engineer will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive corrective actions, prevent recurrence of issues, and continuously improve product and process quality.


Key Responsibilities

  • Inspection & Verification
    • Perform receiving inspections on incoming materials to verify conformance to specifications.
    • Utilize FARO CMM equipment for precise dimensional inspections.
    • Conduct hydrostatic testing, weld etching, and other verification tests to ensure product integrity.
  • Quality Systems & Documentation
    • Maintain accurate paperwork screening and documentation per ISO/IATF requirements.
    • Develop, update, and audit work instructions, control plans, and PFMEAs.
    • Ensure calibration of gauges, jigs, and measurement devices is maintained and documented.
    • Support MSA (Measurement System Analysis) to validate accuracy and repeatability of inspection methods.
  • Process & Product Quality
    • Monitor and track scrap to identify trends, drive root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
    • Participate in Layered Process Audits (LPA), driving accountability across operations.
    • Support production teams in jig validation, tooling checks, and process capability analysis.
  • Continuous Improvement & Problem-Solving
    • Work cross-functionally with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to address quality issues.
    • Lead audits (internal and external) and follow-up on corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
    • Use Excel and data analysis tools to generate quality reports and track key performance indicators.
    • Collaborate with team members to implement corrective actions and prevent recurrence of issues.
