Licensed RTI Team Member / Literacy Data Lead - Gib Olinger Elementary
We are seeking a Science of Reading expert to join our collaborative RTI team. At Gib Olinger, we don’t look at literacy in isolation; we look at it as a school-wide system. You will work as part of a specialized team to ensure Tier II and Tier III interventions are effective, while simultaneously partnering with building administration to drive instructional excellence across all K-3 classrooms.
Strategic Leadership & Administrative Partnership
- Administrative Strategy Sessions: Meet regularly with building admin to review school-wide data trend lines and identify systemic instructional needs.
- Professional Development: Design and facilitate targeted Teacher PD based on data-identified gaps (e.g., strengthening phonemic awareness routines or mastering program implementation).
- Data Meetings: Prepare for and lead 100% and 20% meetings, ensuring teachers have the data and diagnostic insights needed for instructional shifts.
Data Infrastructure & Progress Monitoring
As a member of the RTI team, you will be responsible for the "digital pulse" of student growth:
- Mastery of Data Sheets: Maintain and manage RTI Data Sheets (Google Sheets/District Platforms) to track student groupings, intervention history, and real-time performance.
- Tech-Enabled Monitoring: Utilize MAP Growth and MAP Reading Fluency alongside curriculum-based measures to monitor the "slope of growth." You will ensure that progress monitoring occurs with fidelity and that data is entered into and analyzed regularly.
- Technology Integration: Leverage instructional technology to enhance student engagement in Tier II/III settings and use data-tracking to visualize student gaps for parent and team meetings.
Minimum Qualifications
- Oregon Teaching License: Valid license with a Reading Endorsement (or ability to obtain).
- Primary Pedagogical Mastery: Deep knowledge of instructional methodologies effective with primary (K-3) students.
- Data Literacy: Demonstrated experience in creating and maintaining data systems to monitor student progress and adjust instruction.
- Communication: Ability to work in a cooperative, positive manner with students, staff, parents, and administration.
- Standards Knowledge: Solid understanding of Oregon’s ELA Common Core standards and benchmarks.
Team-Preferred Skills
- Instructional Coaching: Experience providing feedback or PD to adult learners/peers.
- Bilingualism: Spanish language skills are highly preferred.
- Advanced Training: Training in GLAD to support English Language Learners.
- Tech Proficiency: High-level skills in Google Workspace (especially Sheets) and data visualization tools.
COMPENSATION:
Positions start fall of 2026. Salary range is $48,288 - $89,058 (depending on the level of experience and education). The Milton Freewater School District offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefit package that includes:
