Parts Counterperson – Hiley Automotive Group

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the parts sales process from start to finish

  • Communicate with staff and customers in a friendly, professional manner

  • Effectively and efficiently provide updates regarding customer parts status

  • Read and interpret the parts catalog when researching or discussing parts

  • Answer phone calls, provide price quotes, and assist customers with parts inquiries

  • Review body shop estimates to verify accuracy of parts and pricing

  • Deliver high-level service to both internal and external customers

  • Pull and fill orders from stock; maintain weekly bin checks to ensure inventory accuracy

  • Notify the Parts Manager of out-of-stock items requiring immediate attention

  • Source out-of-stock parts from outside vendors and submit emergency orders when necessary

  • Ensure all internal parts requests are properly billed to service repair orders

  • Process payments from retail customers or secure credit authorization


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Auto parts sales experience preferred)

  • Desire to improve and excel in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment

  • Strong interpersonal and time-management skills

  • Ability to read and interpret safety, maintenance, and technical documents

  • Ability to calculate figures including discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
