Job Summary
Dr. Hannah Laue of the UMass Amherst Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to begin by September of 2026. This is a full-time, 12-month position. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will contribute to NIH-funded research on a range of topics related to the microbiome, environmental exposures, and adolescent health.
Essential Functions
Developing and conducting statistical analyses
Reviewing and summarizing relevant literature
Writing scientific papers
Participating in lab meetings
Providing support to Dr. Laue in preparation of grant proposals
Minimum Qualifications
PhD or equivalent in Epidemiology, Environmental Health, Biostatistics or related field
Research experience in the area of human microbiomes, environmental epidemiology, children’s health, women’s health, and/or longitudinal data
Excellent quantitative analytical skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Preferred Qualifications
Substantial experience in R and/or Python
Publication record
Working Conditions
Work is performed in a standard office or indoor university environment and involves minimal physical exertion.
Work Schedule and Work Arrangement
M-F, variable
This position has the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule, which is defined by the University as an arrangement where an employee’s work is regularly performed at a location other than the campus workspace for a portion of the week.
Salary Information
For identified hires with 0-2 years of postdoc experience, UMass Amherst expects to pay between $62,838 and $65,138 for this position.
For identified hires with 3-4 years of postdoc experience, UMass Amherst expects to pay between $66,287 and 67,437 for this position.
