About the Department
This position is responsible for directing the support of all computer hardware systems and server assets which network users rely on for file sharing, printing, email and Internet usage on campus. Lead the support of video conferencing systems across the campus. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of difficult assignments associated with Microsoft servers, have a solid understanding of Active Directory as well as perform video conferencing technical support and troubleshooting. The System Administrator configures, monitors, and responds to various alerts and alarms to maintain 24x7 uptime availability. This position may require occasional travel between three locations: Ontario campus, Caldwell Center, and Snake River Correctional Institution (SRCI).
Position Duties
•Will support and administer Microsoft Active Directory servers and services
•Provide standard administration duties like account creation, password changes, print server configurations.
•Analyze and provide troubleshooting support of Exchange issues and Outlook clients
•Design, maintain, and repair network servers. Make sure appropriate hardware and software is installed to meet technology demands of the college.
•Implement and support virtual servers and desktops using VMware/Omnissa Virtual Infrastructure.
•Install, configure, operate, disassemble, and troubleshoot audio visual equipment.
•Install, configure and maintain workstation computers and other related hardware components, network cards and software. Receive, investigate and respond to user questions and problems encountered with hardware/software. Analyze and correct problems.
•Configure, deploy, and monitor Ruckus wireless access points.
•Configure, deploy, and monitor UPS battery backup systems.
•Design, maintain and deploy software and policies using Microsoft Intune.
•Administer the college’s Microsoft Teams phone system.
•Document procedures for installation, use, maintenance, troubleshooting, and management of the college's information assets. Document system procedures and train other personnel in the department to function as a backup.
Minimum Qualifications
MANDATORY:
- Associate’s degree or two years of college.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows Server and VMware Servers.
- Experience with Active Directory and group policy.
- Training and at least three years of direct, on-the-job experience with Windows Servers, creating and managing user accounts, and Active Directory tree structure.
- Knowledge of installation, troubleshooting and repair, and training methods related to personal computer systems; able to communicate effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Broad knowledge of principles of network security; network protocols and IP administration; operating systems including Ethernet, TCP/IP, UNIX and NT; and local and wide area networking technologies.
- Experience with Microsoft Intune
- Experience with Ruckus wired and wireless networking
- Experience with VMWare/Omnissa Horizon virtual desktops
- Experience with Zoom and related audio-visual equipment
- Experience with Microsoft Teams phones
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
