Your Role: 


EMD Serono in Mississauga, Ontario is hiring a Forecasting & Insights Analyst. As the Forecasting & Insights Analyst, you will partner with the business to provide clear and proactive data-supported insights to commercial and medical functions.  You will develop reporting, analyses, and insights for these groups to enable timely and accurate decisions using patient, customer, reimbursement, co-pay, and device data, among others.


 


You will act as a trusted partner to commercial and medical by leading the development, maintenance, and updating of forecasting models for the Neurology, Fertility, Endocrinology and Oncology therapeutic areas.  A key focus of this role is independently finding, linking, and validating data across many tables/systems to answer complex business questions. You will gather data from different sources and assess, interpret, and analyze it to develop a thorough, accurate, and supportable forecast for use in commercial operations and financial planning.  You will also be expected to clearly and confidently communicate findings to cross-functional teams, including large internal audiences during product launches or commercial updates.


 


You will also act as a skillful data analytics partner to produce market, patient, and customer insights from different data sources including Veeva CRM, SAP ERP, SFDC Patient Support Systems, IQVIA, etc. You will trace data lineage and quickly determine where data lives and how datasets relate.  You will develop, update and continually evolve models, ensuring quality and communicating accurate outputs that leverage multiple internal and external data sets, in a reliable, timely, and efficient manner. Success in this role requires initiative: you’ll be expected to bring forward hypotheses, analyses, and recommendations that help the business make better decisions.


 


Who You Are:


Minimum Qualifications: 



  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Data Science, Data Analytics, Data Engineering, Economics or other Business or Analytical field

  • 1+ years of experience building and maintaining forecasting models or similar analytics work.

  • 1+ years of experience synthesizing data findings into meaningful insights and stories 

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to synthesize data into compelling insights and stories for business and medical stakeholders

  • Proven ability to identify and link data across many tables/objects/systems, including multi-table joins, key/grain alignment, and validation of results


 


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Hands-on experience with visualization tools such as Tableau / Power BI 

  • Write and optimize SQL queries to extract and analyze data from various databases



  • Ability to translate a business question into data requirements, identify the right tables/fields, and document assumptions. Experience with healthcare or pharmaceutical data is an asset.

  • Utilize advanced Excel functions to manipulate and analyze large datasets effectively



  • Employ Python for data analysis and automation of repetitive tasks to enhance efficiency

  • Comfortable working with cloud data environments (e.g., AWS/Redshift). Snowflake exposure is a plus.

  • Experience training business stakeholders on data analysis, report usage, and analytics tools

  • Previous experience with IQVIA/IMS data, patient data, customer data, reimbursement data

  • Previous experience in market intelligence and/or competitor intelligence

  • Ability to work independently with a sense of responsibility and manage multiple tasks efficiently with a desire for long-term growth and interest in developing a career within the company

Pay Range for this position: $81,000 - $99,000


 


Our ranges incorporate all levels and career types available within this specific role and are derived from relevant industry market data within Canada.
