Job Title: Rendering Supervisor

Location: North Platte, Nebraska
Department: Rendering/ Maintenance

 

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Rendering Supervisor to oversee rendering operations at our beef processing facility. This position is responsible for managing the rendering process—including raw material handling, operation of rendering equipment, and finished product output—while ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and USDA regulations. You will play a key leadership role in driving operational efficiency, employee performance, and continuous improvement efforts in the rendering department.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily rendering operations to ensure timely and efficient processing of byproducts
  • Supervise and train team members to perform job functions safely and effectively
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental, USDA, and food safety regulations
  • Maintain accurate logs and records for production, maintenance, and compliance reporting
  • Monitor equipment performance and coordinate routine maintenance to minimize downtime
  • Lead daily safety meetings and enforce plant safety protocols
  • Collaborate with maintenance and production departments to resolve operational challenges
  • Implement and uphold best practices for quality, sanitation, and odor control
  • Maintain inventory of rendering supplies and coordinate with procurement as needed
  • Drive process improvements to increase yield, reduce waste, and enhance product quality

 

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in rendering, meat processing, or related operations
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting
  • Strong/ Solid understanding of rendering systems, equipment, and procedures
  • Commitment to a safe, respectful, and team-oriented work culture
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and lead diverse teams
  • Knowledge of OSHA, USDA, and environmental compliance standards

 

Preferred Skills

  • Ability to work in cold, wet, and physically demanding environments
  • Able to stand and walk for extended periods in a production setting
  • Strong time management and critical thinking skills
  • Effective at prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Able to adapt to changing production demands and solve problems quickly
  • Familiarity with rendering byproduct utilization and waste management best practices
