Early Childhood GSRP Teacher – Pre-K

2026/2027

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Early Childhood Director and Licensee, the teacher would be working with Pre-K students to successfully transition to Young Fives or Kindergarten. 

Qualifications:

Required:

1. Minimum of BS/BA degree in Education

2. Possess or be eligible for a valid Michigan elementary teaching certificate with an endorsement in Early Childhood (ZA), or Early Childhood-General & Special Education (ZS)
3. Knowledge of the Michigan Great Start Readiness Program
4. Able to assess and document student progress
5. Demonstrated experience working with preschool students
6. Professional in personal conduct and actions
7. Strong organizational, classroom management, collaboration and communication skills
8. Demonstrated competence in the use of technology
9. Active and continuous learner in the area of early childhood education, research-based instructional strategies

Desired Characteristics:

1. Experience in working with preschool students
2. Experience in play-based instructional practices
3. Experience using technology as an instructional tool in the classroom
4. Knowledge of internet search engines, Google docs and other internet based applications
5. Ability to work with various personality types

Duties:

1. Provide instruction to preschool students

2. Provide and maintain an orderly classroom environment
3. Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly and productive environment
4. Communicate regularly with building administrator, classroom teachers and assistants, and parents on student progress
5. Evaluate each student’s performance and growth and prepare progress reports with Teaching Strategies Gold
6. Work independently and cooperatively using a variety of instructional strategies
7. Ability to plan and organize; excellent work habits
8. Successful teaching/coaching of students preferred
9. Responsible for overseeing and delegating duties for classroom aide
10. Perform other duties as assigned by administration
