Lead Commodity Purchasing Specialist

Location Xiamen, China

YOUR TASKS

  • Job Objective
  • Define China Hybrid Parts & Connector Material Group Supplier strategy, Increasing supplier base competitiveness.
  • Observing market situation and technology trend, bring the smart parts design and supplier chain concept into Hella internal operation, supporting company competence increasing.
  • Continuous improving responsible material group cost level by commercial leverage and combining with VA/VE
  • 1 Analyze the purchasing market
    taking into account the needs and requirements of the relevant Product
    Centers and Hella Companies. Prepare and update supplier matrix, prepare
    qualified supplier evaluations and build up alternative suppliers to meet or
    overachieve purchasing targets in the dimensions of “Cost”, “Time” and
    “Quality” in alignment with the responsible party from Product Centers and
    Business Division
  • 2 Prepare and implement a
    purchasing strategy for highly complex material groups with defined strategy
    teams. Establish a standard and optimized supplier basis worldwide to realize
    synergies by bundling purchasing volume, concentrating on efficient suppliers
    and optimizing the global process chain
  • 3 Negotiate supplier frame
    contracts, define sourcing concept and realize sourcing activities incl. but
    not limited to sending RfQs, negotiating and nominating suppliers for tools
    and components within the material group (new projects, lifetime extensions,
    change management, etc.)
  • 4 Define material cost changes
    (budgeting) in agreement with the Hella Companies and superior in order to
    create an aligned planning basis and to achieve business division objectives
  • 5 Generate measures and support
    the measure generation for commercial and technical optimization of
    components or purchase volume to reduce costs and improve quality and
    security of supply
  • 6 Analyse suppliers in
    cooperation with the suppliers, identify opportunities for improvement and
    derive corresponding qualification measures, involving internal organizational
    units, in order to optimize the process chain between the supplier and Hella
  • 7 Consolidate the annual
    material requirements within a material group and steer central negotiations
    with suppliers to achieve optimum purchasing prices through bundling
  • 8 Initiate talks, carry out
    negotiations and prepare contracts to reduce costs, as well as to optimize
    procedures between supplier and Hella and to enforce Hella interests
    considering schedules, quality, quantity and delivery conditions
  • 9 Create standardized
    international purchasing processes, methods and tools within the global
    network and strengthen purchasing power towards suppliers world-wide
  • 10 Aligning tasks and decisions
    with supervisors if necessary



YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
  • 1. Bachelor or above, major in engineering, Mechanical related major is preferred.  
  • 2. With 5-year or above working experience in Commodity Group Purchasing, Very good at high level negotiation skill and negotiation strategy, rich experience to cooperate with internal and external stake holder.
  • 3. Familiar with Plastic and Stamping material group manufacture process and cost structure
  • 4. Strong execution ability/ Logic analysis /Quick learner
  • 5. Good written and spoken English
