Job description
We are seeking a Costing & Commercial Alignment professional to lead tender cost estimation, vendor quotation validation, structured cost database management, and team coordination while ensuring quality, competitiveness, and compliance with company standards.
Job requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or equivalent field with relevant experience.
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience in water and wastewater treatment systems.
- Senior-level role requiring self-driven initiative, technical leadership, and cross-departmental collaboration.
- Strong ability to evaluate vendor quotations and prepare accurate costing and budgetary estimates.
- Exposure to multiple industries including municipal, industrial, semiconductor, and chemical water/wastewater applications.
- Solid understanding of process equipment, instrumentation, piping, and valves used in water and wastewater systems.
- Capable of performing basic process design, equipment sizing, and technical evaluations.
- Skilled in differentiating technical options and recommending optimal solutions.
- Experience in developing and standardizing templates/tools (e.g., costing sheets) from scratch.
- Background in tendering, proposal engineering, or EPC project costing.
- Ability to work independently and liaise effectively with various departments.
Job responsibilities
1.Costing & Commercial Alignment
Prepare cost estimates and pricing strategies aligned with the proposed treatment systems.
Evaluate and validate vendor quotations to ensure alignment with tender scope, technical requirements, and commercial competitiveness.
Establish and maintain a structured cost database, including benchmarking of equipment and system pricing.
Develop and continuous maintain comprehensive costing templates and detailed cost breakdown structures for tender submissions.
Develop and standardization of costing guidelines, tools, and best practices.
Analyze cost variations across regions, including mechanical, electrical, instrumentation & control (E&IC), and site-related costs.
Ensure competitiveness as and when the costing preparation and follow the guidance from the team in order to achieve the desired goal.
Sourcing quotation for the piping, fitting, valves, equipment, and others equipment as needed in the proposal offer within the region.
Coordinate with Supply Chain/Procurement to obtain vendor price lists and updated market pricing.
Prepare and issue RFQs to vendors in coordination within the teams.
Monitor, review, and report cost fluctuations, risks, and optimization opportunities to superior on a regular basis (weekly to monthly).
2. Team Coordination & Quality Assurance
Collaborate with Process lead / engineers to ensure accurate and competitive selection of materials, equipment brands, and technical specifications for cost estimation.
Ensure clear scope definition and alignment across proposal and engineering teams during tender development.
Coordinate internally to ensure all pricing inputs are accurate, consistent, and properly consolidated.
Work closely within the teams to validate that vendor quotations comply with technical specifications.
Liaise with Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Fabrication, electrical and control and Project teams to enhance costing accuracy and maintain internal pricing databases.
Ensure all deliverables comply with company quality standards, procedures, and governance requirements.
Maintain effective communication with internal stakeholders and external partners throughout the tendering process.
3. General Responsibilities
Ensure all the work task is following the requirement in the QMS system.
To follow all Group quality directives and input and suggest improvements where relevant.
To follow the company’s policy to ensure as much project scope as possible is kept within the Group.
Ensure all timelines are met for bidding submission and the task given.
Participate in internal and client meetings related to proposals and project development.
Support continuous improvement initiatives in costing processes and tools.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Maintain effective communication with all internal and external relevant disciplines.
Travel as required for project discussions, site visits, or client engagements.
