Job Description

Job Summary:
The Laboratory Technician (Pharmacy) will support pharmaceutical laboratory operations by assisting in testing, analysis, documentation, and maintenance of laboratory standards. The role requires adherence to regulatory guidelines, accurate record-keeping, and compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine pharmaceutical laboratory tests and analyses as per standard operating procedures (SOPs).

  • Assist in sample preparation, chemical analysis, and quality testing of pharmaceutical products.

  • Maintain laboratory equipment, instruments, and ensure proper calibration.

  • Record, analyze, and document test results accurately.

  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory.

  • Support senior pharmacists and analysts in research and quality control activities.

  • Handle chemicals, reagents, and samples following safety protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical laboratory practices and procedures.

  • Knowledge of quality control, quality assurance, and regulatory requirements.

Educational Qualification:

  • B. Pharm or D. Pharm in the relevant branch with First Class or equivalent from a recognized institution.

Professional Certifications:

  • Mandatory registration as a Pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, 1948.

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum 01 years of experience in a pharmaceutical laboratory or in a similar relevant role.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Sound knowledge of pharmaceutical laboratory techniques.

  • Familiarity with GLP and basic GMP principles.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.

  • Ability to operate laboratory instruments and equipment.

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.

  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
