Pretium Packaging is looking to hire a full-time Day Shift Maintenance Technician in our Surrey, BC location. This position will be required to work a minimum of 40 hours a week on scheduled shifts.

Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems on production equipment. This role supports manufacturing operations by performing preventive maintenance and promptly addressing equipment issues to minimize downtime and ensure safe, efficient production.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on equipment and facility systems (hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical).
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions to minimize production downtime.
• Conduct preventive maintenance according to established schedules and procedures.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and work orders.
• Assist in the installation, modification, and commissioning of new equipment.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests in a timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Document maintenance activities in CMMS or maintenance tracking systems.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with manufacturing maintenance and production equipment repairs
• Extensive knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanics, and electrical systems
• Red Seal Millwright is a plus
• Experience with plastics blow molding operations (injection blow molding, extrusion blow molding) is a plus
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must have tools in order to perform all functions of the job/position

Working Conditions

• Industrial/manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and chemicals
• Requires standing, bending, lifting, and occasional heavy physical work
• Must have the availability to work days, afternoons or nights as we are a 24/7 facility.
