Job Description

Job Title:   IT Intern                                         Department:  Information Technology

Reports To:   Manager, Applications               FLSA Status:  Non-exempt

General Summary:

The role of an Intern is to write, code, test, and analyze software programs and applications. This includes researching, designing, documenting, and modifying software specifications throughout the production life cycle. The IT Intern may also analyze and amend software errors in a timely and accurate fashion and provide status reports where required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·       Write, translate and code software programs and applications according to specifications.

·       Run and monitor software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging.

·       Liaise with network administrators, systems analysts, and software engineers to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems.

·       Liaise with other developers for the purpose of developing software requirements and documentation.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

Job Requirements:

·       College student in the field of computer science, information science, management information systems, or business administration.

·       Awareness of network and PC operating systems, including Windows, AS/400, or Unix.

·       Awareness of current network hardware, protocols, and standards.

·       Good written and oral communication skills.

·       Good listening and interpersonal skills.

·       Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.

·       Highly self-motivated and directed.

Work Environment:

·       Remote: This role is remote, and only open to candidates currently located in the United States and able to work without sponsorship.

o   It requires a suitable space that provides a private and quiet workplace.

·       Expected Work Hours: Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.

·       Travel: May be required to travel to off-site location(s) to attend meetings, as necessary 

Hourly pay rate: $20/hr
