Job Description
Insurance Coordinator
Elmhurst, IL
 
 
Elmhurst Dental Care is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Full-Time Insurance Coordinator to join our team! This position is responsible for verifying patient insurance for all scheduled and last minute (when possible) appointments, as well as maintaining correct and accurate insurance information in the Practice Management System (PMS) associated with a patient account for proper billing and assigning fee schedules. 
 
Experience with Curve is a plus but is not mandatory.

Schedule:
  • Monday 7:30 am - 2:30 pm
  • Tuesday 7:30 am - 2:30 pm
  • Wednesday 10:30 am - 6:30 pm
  • Thursday 7:30 am - 2:30 pm
  • Friday 7:30 am - 2:30 pm
 
Compensation:
  • $20 - $24 per hour (based on experience)
 
Responsibilities:
  • Verification of insurance for each patient who has a scheduled appointment.
  • Obtain coverage and benefit information for all dental procedures. 
  • Load proper insurance to patient account to ensure proper claims submission.
  • Maintain and load insurance into Practice Management System.
  • Assign appropriate insurance fee schedule to the patient chart based on insurance coverage.
  • Communicate with patients as needed to obtain updated insurance information. 
  • Enter and update patient demographics into the billing system as needed.
  • Work effectively and maintain expected productivity.
  • Other tasks or duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years’ experience in Revenue Cycle Management, preferably in a Dental practice environment
  • Extensive knowledge of medical or dental explanation of benefits
  • High School Diploma 
  • Strong Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Outlook
  • Knowledge of dental insurance and terminology   
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skill     
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills   
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and meet strict deadlines, completing tasks in a fast-paced organization. 
  • Ability to perform frequent repetitive work with attention to detail.
