Job Description

Position Summary

The Maintenance Assistant provides a variety of standard and unskilled tasks in the maintenance and repair of center grounds and facilities.

Job Skills

· Works closely with and follows directions from the Maintenance Director.

· Maintains building and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.

· Maintains and repairs basic functions of the center as determined by the Maintenance Director.

· Takes care of the tools and equipment.

· Makes minor repairs on handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, geri-chairs, electrical equipment, sprinkling systems, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms and extinguishers, changes filters on HVAC equipment, carriers, lifts, and stocks supplies.

· Assumes supervisor’s responsibilities in his/her absence.

· Puts customer service first.

· Performs other duties as requested.

Qualifications

· High School degree or GED and basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing, and carpentry.

· Ability to comply with HIPAA laws.

· This position requires that the employee is able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

· Comply with all vaccination and testing requirements as required by state and federal regulations.
