Fully Remote - Work from anywhere!

Hi! We're Search Atlas, a SaaS B2B company focused on engineering products and services that help businesses improve their performance on Google. We are a rapidly growing organization with clients from Fortune 500 companies to leading Silicon Valley tech startups.

About the Role

Reports to: Director of Web Operations & Delivery

We're looking for a Senior WordPress Developer who builds smarter, not just faster. You bring deep technical expertise, a team-first mindset, and Claude Code is already a core part of how you work, not something you're curious about, but something you rely on daily. You can take a Figma prototype and translate it into a pixel-perfect, fully responsive build without hand-holding, whether it's an internal Search Atlas property or a client deliverable. You're as comfortable architecting scalable web solutions as you are mentoring junior developers, and you actively use AI tooling to raise the bar for yourself and your team.

If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and take pride in clean, performant, maintainable code built with the best tools available - including AI - we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead & Mentor Lead a team of developers by providing guidance, conducting code reviews, and fostering a culture of technical excellence — including actively modeling how to integrate Claude Code and AI tooling into everyday development workflows.

  • Architect & Implement Architect and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance web solutions using WordPress, PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — translating Figma prototypes into responsive, production-ready builds for both internal projects and client work, and leveraging Claude Code to accelerate development and improve code quality throughout.

  • Set Technical Standards Define and enforce technical standards and best practices for the team, including how Figma files are used as the source of truth during development and how AI tools like Claude Code are used responsibly and effectively. Sloppy, rushed, or untested work is not acceptable — and neither is leaving productivity gains on the table by ignoring the tools available to you.

  • Collaborate & Communicate Work closely with product managers and designers during Figma handoff to define project scope, flag ambiguity early, and translate designs into a clear technical roadmap. You communicate with clarity and confidence — whether you're in a sprint planning session or presenting a technical proposal to leadership.

  • Domain & Infrastructure Management Oversee website hosting (Kinsta, WPEngine, etc.), domain management (Cloudflare, GoDaddy, Squarespace), and infrastructure with a focus on performance, security, and uptime.

  • Hands-On Development Design, develop, and maintain custom WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, and Elementor websites from concept to launch — working directly from Figma prototypes to deliver responsive, accurate implementations across both internal and client-facing properties, using Claude Code as a force multiplier throughout.

  • Optimize for SEO Lead the implementation of technical and on-page SEO best practices to improve search rankings, including optimizing site structure, schema markup, and page performance.

  • Troubleshoot & Innovate Proactively identify and resolve complex issues across browsers and devices. Stay current on emerging web technologies and AI tooling — if there's a smarter way to do something than how you did it last quarter, you've already found it.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in WordPress and/or Shopify development

  • Deep proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

  • Strong Figma proficiency — you can navigate prototypes, inspect specs, and independently translate designs into fully responsive, production-ready builds without ambiguity or hand-holding

  • Experience delivering both internal web properties and client-facing projects from Figma through to launch

  • Hands-on, production experience with Claude Code — you've used it in a real workflow, not just experimented with it

  • Hands-on experience with Elementor and Webflow — comfortable building and customizing within the platform without relying on pre-built templates as a crutch

  • Proven experience leading or mentoring a development team

  • Strong problem-solving skills — you break down complex challenges methodically and drive them to resolution

  • Exceptional communication skills — you can clearly articulate technical decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • A true team player who collaborates openly, gives and receives feedback well, and contributes to a positive team culture

  • Experience with SEO best practices and performance optimization

  • Familiarity with hosting platforms such as Kinsta and WPEngine

  • Working knowledge of domain and DNS management (Cloudflare, GoDaddy, etc.)

Nice to Have ✨

  • Experience with A/B testing tools like VWO, OptinMonster, or UserPilot

  • Proficiency in a modern JavaScript framework such as React, Vue, or Angular

  • Familiarity with headless CMS architectures

  • Knowledge of RESTful API design and development

  • AI-obsessed: proven experience leveraging AI tools to automate and accelerate your daily workflow

Skills & Competencies

  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail

  • Proactive problem-solver who anticipates issues before they arise

  • Ability to maintain composure and prioritize during high-pressure situations

  • Strong follow-through and accountability

  • Collaborative team player with a service-oriented mindset

  • Adaptable and comfortable with changing priorities

  • Uncompromising commitment to quality — you don't ship work you wouldn't be proud of, and you raise the standard for everyone around you

Our Recruitment Process

  • Step 1: Initial screening call with our recruitment team

  • Step 2: Assessment

  • Step 3: Final interview with our Hiring Manager

  • Step 4: Offer extended
