Job Description

This role is hybrid for candidates based in San Francisco, and fully remote for all other U.S. locations.

The Opportunity

We are hiring our first-ever VP of Brand — the most important marketing hire of our next chapter.

This is not a "make the logo look nice" role. This is the role that defines how the market thinks about an entirely new category. You will be the architect of our brand narrative, the creative force behind our founders' personal brands, and the leader who builds and scales our social, video, PR, and creative teams from the ground up.

You will report directly to our co-founders, inherit an existing team, and have the budget and authority to restructure and hire the way you think is right.

What You Will Own

Category Creation Develop the narrative, vocabulary, and positioning that makes "agentic marketing" a term the industry recognizes and associates with Search Atlas. Own the "Point of View" engine: original research, proprietary reports, manifestos, and thought leadership that establish Search Atlas as the defining voice in this space.

Founder-Led Marketing Develop and execute personal brand strategies for Manick Bhan and Sophia Deluz-Bhan. Build a full content system — editorial calendars, recurring formats, ghostwriting support, video pipelines, and feedback loops that compound reach over time.

Brand & Creative Leadership Lead and grow the Brand & Social pillar: social media, video, long-form editorial, digital PR, creative direction, and platform-specific strategy. Set a high bar for creative output — work that stops people, gets shared, and makes anyone who sees it think "this is a really cool brand." Evaluate, restructure, and hire to build the team the right way.

Video & Content at Scale Own the strategy and infrastructure behind a constant pipeline of video content — brand films, product launches, founder content, ad creative, and social-first formats. Know how to produce high-quality output efficiently and build systems that scale.

Performance & Creative Accountability Own the performance metrics behind every brand initiative. Define what success looks like, build dashboards that track it, and hold the team accountable to outcomes, not just output. Connect creative decisions to measurable business impact: audience growth, share of voice, pipeline influence, and conversion contribution.

Brand Systems, Standards & Community Own the Search Atlas brand identity, voice, and visual language across every touchpoint — product, website, social, events, sales, and community. Work cross-functionally with product and design to embed brand consistency into the product experience itself. Build and steward an influencer ecosystem that brings the top voices in marketing into the Search Atlas orbit through events, co-branded content, and branded experiences.

Requirements

Must-Haves

  • 10+ years in marketing, 5+ years leading a brand team at a fast-growing tech company

  • Has built or fundamentally transformed a brand — not just maintained one

  • Managed teams of 10+ across creative, content, social, and/or communications

  • Has worked closely with founders or C-suite on thought leadership and personal brand

  • Has helped define or launch a new market category with evidence the market adopted it

  • Has owned performance marketing metrics and reported on them to leadership

  • A genuine AI power user applying it to real marketing workflows

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience in B2B SaaS or marketing technology

  • Hands-on experience with paid social creative

  • Experience building events, pop-ups, or experiential marketing programs

  • Familiarity with AI tools for design and creative production

  • Has built an influencer or ambassador program from scratch

Compensation & Benefits

  • Location: Hybrid for candidates based in San Francisco / fully remote for all other U.S. locations.

  • Base Salary: $175,000 – $260,000

  • Equity: Meaningful equity grant. Details shared during the interview process.
