Core Responsibilities
This role is a key member of the Hardware Technology Project Office Team, under the Head of Hardware technology elements with a dotted line to Advanced DevelopmentLeadership Team. Both teams work together within The LEGO Group to develop new and innovative technology solutions and experiences at scale whilst collaborating with the rest of the Product & Operations organization.
The role involves:
Working with Engineering colleagues to coordinate the development of software & hardware solutions and technology platforms for the complete life cycle, utilizing the most relevant technology with a dedicated focus on reusability and manufacturability.
Coordinating with key strategic development partners to bring emerging and advanced technologies into products which can shape the future of play.
Leading the project to deliver within the agreed frames of time, cost, quality, and volume.
Being responsible for ensuring adequate progress towards work, including ensuring decisions are made in a timely fashion, review meetings planned, dependencies supervised, tasks delivered as expected, work done within budget and communication made to all team members.
Being able to present difficult and complex technical decisions in a clear and concise manner to senior stakeholders, enabling them to make business critical decisions in a timely manner.
Driving collective agreement among the multifunctional lead team, balancing the interest between engineering and manufacturing, and escalating to the SteerCo or Project Sponsor if agreement cannot be reached.
Establishing and maintaining a well-functioning multi-discipline team.
Planning project tasks and activities with workstream leads and ensuring coordination across workstreams and other activities.
Managing change control and ensure that all significant changes to time, cost, quality, and scale are aligned with critical collaborators.
Identify, track and mitigate (wherever possible) all project risks.
Do you have what it takes?
Extensive hands-on experience in consumer electronics engineering project management and delivery in robotics/ mechatronics, mechanical, electronics, systems, or a closely related field.
The ability to proactively engage with all parts of the project organization and external partners to ensure alignment, reduce risks, and ensure work output.
Deep understanding of the processes, tools, and ways of working within technology development projects.
Solid experience in leading a multi-functional team and people in a related field, in collaboration with multiple cross-organizational teams such as engineering, quality, procurement, and manufacturing.
A can-do attitude, superb communication, and motivational skills.
Strong collaboration and partner leadership skills.
Entrepreneurial spirit with passion for new technologies and to drive innovation.
Strategic and well-rounded problem solver with attention to detail.
