    Elementary AIMS Teacher Assistant

    QUALIFICATIONS:  High school diploma or GED (or equivalent) AND an Associate Degree or 48 Hours of passing College Credit or have passed Oklahoma General Education Test (OGET), ParaPro Test or WorkKeys Test.  MUST PROVIDE OFFICIAL DOCUMENTATION.   Individual must stand and walk up to seven hours.  Good people skills are necessary to positively impact the student's learning environment. Job requires occasional bending/stooping/squatting/crouching/kneeling, climbing, reaching above the shoulder and pushing/pulling.  Job requires occasional carrying/lifting up to 50 pounds.  Job requires employee to use both hands for repetitive actions involving simple/firm grasping and fine manipulation.  Employee must possess hearing and speaking abilities to monitor equipment and communicate effectively with employees, students, and parents.  The Board of Education and Superintendent may approve alternatives to the listed qualifications.

    WORKING HOURS: 7 hours daily

    REPORTS TO: Classroom Teacher

    SUPERVISES:  Students

    SALARY GRADE: P

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    1. Supervises and assists students individually and in groups in an instructional capacity.
    2. Prepares instructional materials.
    3. Supervises students outside of the classroom.
    4. Assists students on computers and chromebooks.
    5. Assists students in cafeteria.
    6. Provide behavior reset breaks for students.
    7. Works with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning of materials or skills initially introduced by the teacher.
    8. Serves as the chief source of information and help to any substitute teacher assigned in the absence of the regular teacher.
    9. Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully-licensed teachers.
    10. Other duties as assigned.
