Salary Grade: Hourly 11 | H-11

Position Summary: The Carpentry Craftsperson performs skilled carpentry work including the installation, repair, and construction of structures, fixtures, and furnishings across district facilities. This position works independently to complete assigned work orders, applying knowledge of carpentry methods, materials, building codes, and safety standards. This role requires the ability to read and interpret blueprints, measure and fabricate materials, and execute projects ranging from routine repairs to moderate construction tasks. The Carpentry Craftsperson coordinates with other maintenance shops as needed and reports labor, material costs, and work order information to the Foreperson daily. This position is part of the
Skilled Trades career track within the Maintenance department. This position operates with a high degree of independence and is expected to complete assignments with minimal supervision.

• Cross-Shop Coordination and Support

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
● High school diploma or equivalent required
● Completion of an accredited trade school program in carpentry or related field preferred

Experience:
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in carpentry or general construction
• Experience working in commercial, institutional, or educational facilities preferred
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) preferred

Licenses and Certifications:
• Valid Oklahoma driver’s license with no restrictions that would preclude driving on the job required
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Working knowledge of carpentry methods, materials, tools, and standard construction practices
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings
• Proficiency with hand and power tools commonly used in carpentry and general construction
• Knowledge of applicable building codes, safety standards, and district maintenance procedures
• Ability to accurately measure, cut, and fabricate wood and other building materials
• Ability to estimate labor and material costs for assigned projects
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to plan and coordinate work schedules to complete assignments independently
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, school staff, and other trades personnel
• Proficiency with CMMS software and basic computer applications including Microsoft Office
