Compensation: $75,000-$125,000/Yearly

Job Overview:
The Low Voltage Pre-Construction Estimator is responsible for providing comprehensive estimating services for low voltage electrical projects. This role includes preparing cost estimates, managing bid projects, and developing contract proposal estimates. Effective communication with clients, vendors, engineers, architects, building officials, owners, contractors, and subcontractors is essential for determining the scope of work, reviewing design options, and pricing field change orders.
Key Task and Responsibilities:
•    Complete low voltage electrical estimates for all assigned Plan-Spec and Design-Build projects, focusing on low-cost installation methods.
•    Review Request for Proposals (RFPs), plans, specifications, and all other contract documents.
•    Request, collect, and review necessary supplier and subcontractor Bills of Materials (BOM) and quotes, ensuring a full understanding of qualifications and exclusions before making pricing decisions.
•    Identify and resolve deviations from the proposal, including scope and specifications.
•    Allocate sufficient time before deadlines for thorough estimate reviews by self, peers, and supervisors.
•    Establish and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, engineers, and contractors in the industry.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:
The ideal candidate should have experience in commercial low voltage electrical construction projects and data centers, with exceptional knowledge of electrical, building, and municipal codes and regulations. Familiarity with tender rules and processes, as well as the ability to network, market, and sell services, is crucial. Proficiency in related computer programs is essential.
•    Minimum of one year of experience as an estimator for low voltage or medium voltage electrical construction projects.
•    At least three years of hands-on experience with electrical construction projects.
•    Knowledge of standards such as NEC, NFPA, UL, and ISA, BICSI, Etc, related to design and documentation.
•    Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams, schematics, layout drawings, and wiring diagrams, and modify them for optimization.
