    • Maine Certification as Administrator of Special Education 030.
    • Master's Degree in or related to special education.
    • Knowledge of most recent legal and programming trends in special education.
    • Ability to coordinate services for the Bangor Regional Programs for Exceptional Children (multiple handicapped and hearing impaired)
    • Assist in the design and implementation of staff development work for Bangor special educators.
    • Assist the Director of Pupil Services in the development and supervision of special education programs for the Bangor School Department.
    • Chair district IEP meetings in the Director's absence and assist in annual IEP reviews throughout the school year.
    • Share with the Director appointments on boards and committees in the community, representing the Bangor School Department.
    • Ability to support professional development for district special education
    • Ability to complete special education audit with MDOE
    • Ability to support transition of students from Child Development Services
