Description
***Part time evenings 1:30p-4:45p Occasional field trips**
· Maintain accurate attendance and transportation logs
· Assist children in entering and exiting the vehicle safely
· Support program staff with dismissal and arrival procedures as needed
· Ensure appropriate behavior and safety practices are followed during transport
· Keep the vehicle gased, clean, organized, and equipped with required safety materials
· Safely operate the program vehicle following all traffic laws and organizational policies
· Transport children to and from designated locations according to the daily route schedule
· Communicate promptly with program leadership regarding delays, incidents, or concerns
· Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle safety inspections and report any maintenance needs
· Participate in required trainings, including CPR/First Aid, safety, and transportation compliance
Requirements
Qualifications and Education Requirements
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Prior experience working with children preferred
· Strong communication and customer service skills
· Valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record
· Ability to safely operate a passenger van or similar vehicle
· Ability to remain calm, patient, and attentive during transportation
· Must pass background checks, drug screening, and meet state/local licensing requirements
Physical Requirements
· Ability to sit for extended periods while driving
· Ability to assist children in and out of the vehicle
· Ability to conduct vehicle inspections, including bending, lifting, and walking around the vehicle
