Job Description Summary
ORGANIZATION SUMMARYThe Faculty Event Coordinator will assist with managing research related events that Faculty or Smith School Centers are hosting or involved with—including performing various administrative duties, managing travel/scheduling for faculty/Centers staff and visitors, and consulting with the Smith Programs and Events to plan and manage events, meetings, seminars and/or conferences.
PREFENCES
* Customer service oriented with the ability to multi-task working on simultaneous events and multiple priorities at one time.
* A thorough understanding of event planning and management, including logistics, budgets, and event marketing.
* Ability to work as an individual or part of a team based on the needs of each event, program, or project.
* Excellent customer service skills working with both internal and external stakeholders
Team-oriented with the ability to work independently or as part of a larger team to manage events, programs, and other projects with the ability to work autonomously.
* Attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
* Ability to work a flexible work schedule with modified hours to support evening and weekend programs and events.
* Proven excellence in experience working with a variety of constituents: employers, staff, faculty, students, and alumni.
* Ability to maintain composure and ability to keep calm when under pressure to meet deadlines and deal with client changes.
* Skilled in oral and written communication, including the ability to interact with a variety of vendors on a regular basis.
* Proven experience successfully handling multiple events at different stages simultaneously.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: One (1) year of professional secretarial, clerical, coordinator, or administrative experience.
Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures and systems such as filing and record-keeping.
Skill in oral and written communication.
Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products.
Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments.
