Job Description

Properly grade and purchase U.S. coins and bank notes to meet company demand. Analyze market availability. Traveling required at least 25% of the time.

While adhering to confidentiality guidelines, you’ll purchase U.S. coins and bank notes from various sources to help meet company demand. You’ll also authenticate U.S. coins to be offered for sale, and analyze projected company needs versus market availability.

 

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Travel required a minimum of 25% of the time
  • Properly grading and assigning wholesale values to coins and bank notes offered for sale to the company
  • Authenticating selected U.S. coins and bank notes
  • Purchasing U.S. coins & bank notes from both wholesale sources and private collectors as required to meet company demand
  • Accurately identifying all coin types, varieties and mint marks using company-supplied reference guides

 

Qualified applicant will have:

  • Two years of college or specialized training
  • On-the-job training in an apprenticeship program (up to 2 years)
  • Very good interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills
  • Excellent math and retention skills
  • 20/20 corrected vision with intact color discrimination
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds unassisted
