Job Description

NE Portland!! Day Shift Lead DSP; Sunday - Wednesday; 730am - 530pm; 40 hours per week and excellent benefits!!

We are seeking compassionate and dedicate individuals to join our team here at Community Services, Inc. (CSI), as Lead Direct Support Professionals (LDSPs), to provide care and support for individuals with disabilities. As a Lead DSP, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities by assisting them in various aspects of daily living, promoting independence, and fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.

What you will do as a Lead DSP:

Ultimately, the goal is to help the people you support, feel and become as independent as possible, while they live their daily lives. Among other things, you will:

  • Support individuals in developing life skills, such as communication, self-care, and household management.
  • Accompany individuals to appointments, social events, recreational activities, and other outings.
  • Assist in the management of personal finances and review of documentation for the individuals in your care. Lead DSPs also share on-call responsibilities with the supervisor of the location.
  • Being a problem solver is a key part of your role, as you navigate challenges with grace and integrity.
  • Provide person-centered services, supports and advocacy for individuals in positive and life-enriching environments.
  • Each shift you work, presents new opportunities to make a difference in the lives of those you serve.
  • Implementing behavior support plans, teaching coping strategies and promoting positive social interactions.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals, therapists, families, and case managers, to ensure coordinated and holistic care.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Adhere to all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures governing the provision of services to individuals with disabilities.
