Position Summary:  The Chef de Cuisine is responsible for directing all culinary operations within the restaurant, ensuring exceptional food quality, consistency, and presentation. This role oversees kitchen staff, manages inventory and food costs, and collaborates with leadership to maintain the restaurant’s culinary vision and standards.

Pay Rate: The rate of pay listed on job boards are auto-generated numbers. Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s actual rate of pay will be determined during the hiring process.

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree or equivalent training certificate required. Culinary college degree preferred.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in a managerial culinary role.
• Food handling and sanitation certificates preferred
• Excellent record of kitchen, and staff management, is required.
• Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS) is required.
• Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment

Expectations & Responsibilities:

• Create menus & oversee execution of the restaurant and banquet food service
• Plan, prep, set up and provide quality service in all areas of restaurant production to include, but not limited to, all menu items supplied by outlet kitchen.
• Manage & control food and labor costs.
• Recruit, hire, train & lead Restaurant Kitchen Staff 
• Adhere to all DHEC, Sanitation, and healthy Industry safety regulations 
• Ensure all guest special requests and dietary restrictions are met seamlessly
• Create & maintain a positive work environment
• Support all other resort culinary operations where necessary
• Actively cook, prepare, and plate all menu items, often leading by example during peak service hours.
• All other duties as assigned.

Essential Physical Requirements:

• Must be able reach, twist, bend, kneel, stoop, and climb for items that might be overhead.
• Must have the manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills for food preparation and testing.
• Must have the ability to give and follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
• Must be able to stand on feet for a minimum of 10 hours per day.
• Must be able to lift, push and pull items of at least 30 lbs.
