Job Description

As an Operations & Performance Senior Associate, you'll assist clients with developing and implementing operations modernization and improvement initiatives for the Operations & Performance Practice – all with the resources, environment, and support to help you excel.

From day one, you'll be empowered by the greater Growth Advisory team to help clients make the moves that will help them achieve their vision and help you achieve more, confidently.

 

Your day-to-day may include:

  • Aid cross-functional teams in the delivery of major transformation initiatives within the realms of operational efficiency programs, digital operations management solutions, product and operations modernization programs incorporating business opportunity assessment, solution strategy, design, program management, implementation of enabling technologies, and organizational change
  • Maintain a good working relationship with clients and work effectively with client management and staff at all levels to manage expectations, ensure satisfaction, and become a trusted business advisor
  • Communicate (verbally and in writing) externally with clients and internally with all levels of the organization to successfully accomplish objectives while portraying knowledge and confidence
  • Manage and minimize engagement delivery risk by proactively identifying issues and recommended courses of remediation to engagement teams
  • Manage, develop, train, coach and mentor staff on projects and assess performance for engagement and year-end reviews
  • Employ change and transformation methods, data, analytics, operations design and fintech to improve operations performance
  • Create, interpret, and transform data and analytics into actionable performance insights
  • Meet or exceed targeted utilization
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Support clinical performance improvement engagements at hospitals and health systems, including throughput optimization, length-of-stay reduction, care pathway standardization, and clinical labor productivity benchmarking
  • Contribute to operating margin improvement initiatives by analyzing cost structures across clinical and non-clinical departments, identifying efficiency opportunities, and supporting implementation of targeted interventions
  • Assist in workforce transformation projects by conducting staffing analysis, workforce mix assessments, and supporting the development of scheduling and productivity improvement recommendations for healthcare clients
  • Support strategic planning workstreams for healthcare clients, including market analysis, service line assessments, and performance benchmarking against industry standards (e.g., MGMA, Vizient, Premier benchmarks)
  • Contribute to value creation initiatives for healthcare organizations and private equity-sponsored healthcare platforms by assisting in operational due diligence, baseline assessments, and tracking of improvement milestones

 

You have the following technical skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Data & Analytics, Engineering, Biotechnology, or related field required
  • Minimum 2 years of related work experience in a similar consulting practice or function servicing cross-industry clients at a national level required
  • Client project delivery experience within an industry sector such as Financial Services, Healthcare, Life Sciences or Asset Management
  • Business Performance Analysis
  • Target Operating Model Design and Transformation
  • Operational Efficiency & Control
  • Process Improvement /Design and Automation
  • Experience or coursework in healthcare operations, clinical workflow analysis, or health system performance improvement preferred
  • Familiarity with healthcare data sources and benchmarking tools (e.g., MGMA, Vizient, CMS data sets) a plus
  • Understanding of healthcare regulatory environment, including CMS reimbursement models, value-based care frameworks, and clinical quality metrics
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Can travel as needed. Expected travel is up to 20-25% but occasionally up to 80%

The base salary range for this position is between $110,400 and $140,760. Placement within the pay range is at Grant Thornton’s discretion, and it is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, job -related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, progression within the role, geographic location, and internal equity.
