CONTRACT/SALARY: 4-8 hour work days; Summer 2026 Only
STATUS: Part-Time; Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Director of Maintenance/Building Principal
POSITION SUMMARY: Perform general maintenance and custodial duties in the district. Maintain a clean, healthy and safe environment for district buildings and grounds.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Clean/maintain school facilities such as classrooms, restrooms, hallways, entrance doors, entryways, offices, floors, desks, chairs and walls. This includes scrubbing, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting and waxing.
- Replenishes supplies in restrooms and classrooms; changes light bulbs.
- Orders janitorial supplies from maintenance office.
- Remove snow and ice from sidewalks.
- Empties trash receptacles.
- Set up chairs/tables for meeting and other items as needed.
- Assist in painting, cutting grass, making repairs, and insuring rooms are securely locked.
- Report maintenance problems to Building Principal.
- Perform other duties as assigned by building principal or director or maintenance.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:
- Ability to read and write.
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
- Ability to perform moderate to heavy manual labor.
- Ability to perform daily tasks with minimum supervision.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Ability to effectively communicate and work well with students, staff and parents.
- Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs with assistance.
- Ability to have reliable transporation to and from work.
- Must be at least 16 years of age or older and a student within the Fox C-6 School District.
