Position Summary:
The Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst will monitor, analyze, prioritize, escalate, and respond to security events. This role will gain experience working with a wide spectrum of security technology and assist engineers in administering and operating security tools.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor security tool and managed security provider (MSP) alerts, including security information and event management (SIEM), identity and access management (IAM), intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), endpoint detection and response (EDR), firewall and network security tools, vulnerability lifecycle management (VLM), and data loss prevention (DLP).
- Analyze alerts for priority and triage, including identifying false positives, escalating potential incidents, and routing tickets to other teams, as needed.
- Respond to prioritized security alerts by collaborating with stakeholders, investigate root cause issues, and execute or recommend improvements.
- Document activities consistent with audit and accreditation requirements.
- Monitor vulnerability scans for deviations from patching policy, assist in prioritizing remediation efforts, and generate vulnerability and patching reports for senior leadership.
- Conduct risk assessments on information systems and vendors to make recommendations on security controls.
- Assist in gathering evidence for compliance activities.
- Build, maintain, and present security awareness training, role-based security training, and phishing exercises.
- Develop and maintain documentation and diagrams for security tools, system environments, and cloud operations.

Experience/Requirements:
- Bachelor�s degree in cybersecurity, information security, computer science, or related field preferred.
- Certifications in cybersecurity, incident response, or related skills preferred.
- Prior experience working on a cybersecurity or IT team preferred.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices
- Knowledge of incident response principles and practices
- Knowledge of access control principles and practices
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Critical thinking and analytical mindset
- Proficient, or able to gain proficiency with, a broad array of security software applications and tools
- Ability to maintain a high degree of discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
- Hours are generally Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM. As operational deliverable deadlines emerge there may be extended working hours.
- Light work requiring exertion up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
- Ability to work from La Vista, NE office with reliable and predictable attendance.
