SSR Mining – Seabee Gold Operation (SGO) is hiring for a Supervisor, Mill Maintenance Operations.
About Your New Role:
Reporting to the Superintendent, Maintenance Operations, the Supervisor, Mill Maintenance Operations will oversee daily maintenance activities within the mill, ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, while supporting safe and efficient production. This role coordinates maintenance crews, manages work orders, and ensures compliance with safety and operational standards.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Daily Maintenance Leadership
Direct and supervise mill maintenance crews and contractors
Assign work orders, prioritize tasks, and ensure timely completion
Monitor equipment performance and respond to breakdowns or urgent repairs
Planning & Scheduling
Collaborate with planners, operations, and engineering to schedule preventive and predictive maintenance
Ensure spare parts, tools, and materials are available for planned work
Equipment Reliability
Support root-cause analysis for equipment failures
Recommend improvements to maintenance procedures and equipment upgrades
Ensure proper documentation of repairs and maintenance activities
Safety & Compliance
Enforce safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and regulatory requirements
Conduct safety meetings, toolbox talks, and hazard assessments
Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement
Team Development
Training and mentorship of the mill maintenance crews
Evaluate performance and support skill development
Foster strong communication between maintenance and operations teams
Budget & Resource Management
Assist with maintenance budgeting and cost control
Track labor hours, contractor usage, and material consumption
Support capital project execution when required
Your Knowledge and Skills:
Good communication and problem-solving skills
The ability to work both independently and within a team in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment with the utmost professionalism and discretion
Confidentiality is essential
A positive and proactive attitude towards safety is essential
Your Education and Experience:
Journeyperson Red Seal, Industrial Mechanic certificate
Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years’ experience in Mill environment
Preference for candidates with experience in a mining industry with underground experience
Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (SAP) is considered an asset
About Our Working Conditions:
This position has a schedule of 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off at our remote camp which you will be required to fly in fly out with pick up points in Saskatoon, Prince Albert and La Ronge.
