Position: Estimator

Status: Exempt

Summary:

The Estimator plays a key role in ensuring a positive customer experience by accurately determining the cost of vehicle damage and developing a timeline for repairs. This role also involves negotiating insurance payments and clearly communicating costs and timelines with customers.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

• Examine all parts of a damaged vehicle requiring repair, replacement, or repainting.

• Assess vehicle damage through inspections to determine repair needs.

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor and parts.

• Draft and enter repair orders into CollisionRight�s system.

• Prepare and submit insurance forms to show repair costs.

• Communicate professionally with customers, explaining damage, cost estimates, and insurance details.

• Maintain accurate records of all repairs in company files.

Qualifications:

• Solid working knowledge of automotive repair processes, techniques, and materials with 1�3 years of collision repair experience.

• Ability to assess damage and remove/replace structural or non-structural vehicle components (e.g., doors, fenders, windscreens).

• Strong attention to detail with ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

• Physically capable of lifting up to 35 pounds regularly and 70+ pounds occasionally.

• Ability to kneel, crouch, climb, and work in a production-oriented environment.

• Excellent negotiation and customer service skills.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced shop environment
