Job Description

Organization Overview
Freewheelin’ Community Bikes provides accessible bicycles and teaches youth life and leadership skills that improve their physical and mental well-being.
We connect a very vulnerable population of youth (ages 8-18) with skills for life over a shared passion for the bicycle. Youth gain hands-on mechanic skills while learning social skills that help them navigate their lives at home, at school, and in the community.
 

Employment Type: Part-time/hourly, seasonal, Non-Exempt


Role Overview
The Engagement Coordinator assists with creation and implementation of the strategy to engage individuals and businesses in advancing Freewheelin’ mission.
With a focus on volunteers and stakeholders, the coordinator incorporates cultivation and stewardship, to build a strategy which includes a robust array of opportunities that engage as diverse community of supporters. This position reports directly to the Executive Director and works as part of the Freewheelin’ Team.
 

Essential role functions:


1.) Stakeholder Relations
• Weekly communication to new and existing supporters
• Annual Nancy’s ride promotion and communication
• Assist with donor tours, event outreach and support, and other engagement strategies.
• Assist with special event fundraising communication and efforts.


2.) Volunteer Management
• Assist with the recruitment, screening, and training of interested volunteers.
• Facilitate the volunteer screening process of interested stakeholders through communication techniques.
• Oversee the training and onboarding of volunteers into Freewheelin’ spaces and programs.
• Follow up with volunteers regarding their experience and interest level for continued support.
 

3.) Participation in organizational events
• Staff meetings, team meetings, 1:1s, other strategy sessions.
• Email management
• Professional development, trainings, and special presentations
• Special Events (donation days, build nights, Community Rides, Nancy’s Ride, etc.)
 

Qualifications
• Comfortable asking for financial support from external partners.
• Proficiency with MS Office and donor databases;
• Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively in writing,
by phone, or in person.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while staying
organized.
• Comfort pivoting between high-level, strategic work and smaller tasks.
• Ability to work independently, problem solve, take initiative, set priorities,
handle multiple projects, and exercise good judgment.
• Sense of humor, curiosity, and love of continuous learning.
