Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Designer to join our team on a full time position. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on engineering environment and enjoys taking designs from concept through prototyping and validation. You will work closely within a cross functional team‑ to develop robust mechanical assemblies that meet demanding performance and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical assemblies using SolidWorks, including SolidWorks Simulation for FEA analysis.
  • Support prototyping activities, including tool usage, fit checks, and design iteration.
  • Apply strong knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics in system and component design.
  • Ensure compliance with MIL-STD‑-8‑10, FMVSS, requirements during design and testing.
  • Develop and review welded structures, sheet metal components, and parts requiring forming or stamping processes.
  • Collaborate within a PLM system to manage design data, revisions, and documentation.
  • Work closely with manufacturing, testing, and quality teams to ensure successful product realization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience designing mechanical assemblies.
  • P.Eng. license an asset but not a required
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, including FEA tools.
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping and mechanical tools.
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD‑-‑810, FMVSS, and vibration testing standards.
  • Experience with weld design, sheet metal, forming, and stamping processes.
  • Prior experience working within a PLM environment.
  • Ability to obtain controlled goods security clearance
