Job Description

Status: Exempt, Full-Time| Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm 



Reports to: Chief Development Officer



Department: Administration



Region: Orange County



 



Job Summary: The Grants Manager is responsible for managing Mercy House’s private grants, foundation relationships, and corporate giving. This position will oversee the grant writing, grant reporting, and assist in public funding efforts. In addition, they will be responsible for overseeing 1-2 staff members within the grants team.



 



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



Grants Management




  • Mange private grant and reporting schedule

  • Oversee timely submission of private grant reports

  • Oversee management of relationships with private grantors

  • Assist with public grants, reporting, and presentations

  • Manage grant applications to meet agency revenue goals

  • Manage private and public grant follow up, contracts, and general organization of grant folders

  • Ensure communication with program staff regarding program highlights and achievements

  • Ensure communication with accounting staff on program budgets

  • Ensure communication with program staff to maintain knowledge of program activities and needs

  • Assist with grant presentations when necessary



Staff Management




  • Manage Grants Specialist and Corporate Giving Specialist

  • Ensure that grants are being written adequately

  • Track submissions and reporting

  • Help specialist identify, research, and prioritize funders based on area of focus

  • Handle all other general staff management functions such as timecard reviews and approvals, time off requests, job performance, etc.



Miscellaneous




  • Must participate in networking functions, community meetings, HMIS user meetings, funders, and partnering agencies

  • Enhance job performance by applying up-to-date professional knowledge gained by attending seminars and conferences and by reviewing professional publications

  • Attend staff meetings and workshops as needed

  • Perform ad hoc projects as appointed by Supervisor
