Job Description

Allen Turner Automotive of Auburn is looking for an experienced Automotive Title Clerk to join our team. The Title Clerk is responsible for processing and verifying all vehicle title and registration paperwork in compliance with state, federal, and dealership requirements. This role ensures accurate documentation for all retail, wholesale, and trade-in vehicle transactions, and supports internal teams with title-related questions and resolutions. The Title Clerk works closely with the sales and finance departments to maintain compliance, efficiency, and accuracy in vehicle documentation. 



Compensation: Starting at $20/hr!

Key Responsibilities:




  • Process title and registration paperwork for all sold vehicles, including new, used, lease, and wholesale transactions

  • Ensure compliance with all DMV, state, and federal regulations regarding vehicle titling and registration

  • Submit title applications to appropriate agencies in a timely manner and follow up on status

  • Verify vehicle identification numbers (VINs), lien releases, and ownership documentation for accuracy

  • Maintain accurate records of titles, tag applications, odometer statements, and tax forms

  • Coordinate with banks and financial institutions for lien perfection and title release

  • Reconcile title discrepancies and resolve issues with customers, lenders, and the DMV

  • Prepare and file all related paperwork including payoff checks, title corrections, and duplicate titles

  • Track and report title status to management and ensure deadlines are met

  • Support month-end and audit activities by providing title documentation as needed

  • Maintain confidentiality of customer information and dealership records

  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of accounting and dealership operations
