Job Description

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

 

Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing all manufacturing equipment to ensure maximum uptime and support production.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Automation Maintenance Technician – responsible for keeping production operating through repairing and maintaining all associated equipment. On the spot fix for any problems when they are discovered before they have a chance to worsen. Automation Maintenance Technician will usually be required to perform a wide range of repair tasks around a facility. Some other tasks as maintenance may be called upon to do include:

 

  • Inspect and identify any issues per PM program
  • Repair faulty equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair VFD’s.
  • Working knowledge of conveyor systems, VFD’s and tracking of belts.
  • Troubleshoot electrical wiring through use of special tools and the ability to read schematics.
  • Monitor automation systems through computer systems
  • Perform general maintenance tasks, including but not limited to: changing bearings, belts, motors, vfds, plcs, safety doors and curtains.
  • Reporting and identifying potential safety hazards to avoid injuries
  • Be on call as needed to address emergency issues.
  • Ability to deal with unresolved situations, frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
  • Able to start and persist with specific courses of action while exhibiting high motivation and a sense of urgency
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Certificate in PLC’s and or robotics operation
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques.
  • Physically capable and available to work overtime including weekends, public holidays, and evenings.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities.
  • Must be well organized and have the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Robot experience preferred
  • Epson Robot experience a plus
