Lawyer/Associate attorney at law/Risk Consultant

 

Are you or do you want to become a true insurance legal professional? We are looking for a committed and business-oriented legally trained individual to join our Nordic Contract & Claims team.

 

This is a temporary position covering a parental leave, with the possibility of extension for the right individual. The office location for this role is in Oslo.

 

The team reviews commercial contracts for our Nordic clients, making sure the balance of risk, indemnity and insurance is a good fit for the deal at hand. Furthermore, we provide expert advice and strategy in complex and high value claims.

We collaborate closely with our Client Leader and Broker colleagues to align each client’s insurance program with the real risk profile we observe in our day-to-day work.

 

For the right candidate, the role can be combined with registration as an associate attorney at law.

What the day will look like

As a member of our team, you will:

  • Review and amend commercial contracts, focusing on risk allocation, indemnity and insurance
  • Provide guidance and resolve strategy on claims within all non-marine insurance products, special focus being on liability products
  • Advise clients and internal stakeholders on general insurance law and liability related topics
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues across the Nordics and beyond
  • Contribute to internal know-how and best practices

Skills and experience that will lead to success

We believe you have:

  • A master’s degree in law
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and Norwegian/Swedish/Danish
  • Preferably at least 2 years of relevant experience, for example from:
    - Insurance law or commercial law
    - Contract Management
    - Insurance Broking
    - Underwriting
    - Claims
  • Ability to balance legal precision with commercial and practical considerations
  • A proactive, structured and collaborative working style
