Job Description

The Doe Run Company is seeking an Operations Analyst to support operations through the implementation of new technologies and operational initiatives across the trend. This position is located at our Brushy Creek Mine in Boss, MO.

The work location may change as needed to support production and business needs within the Viburnum Trend in Southeast Missouri.

Based in St. Louis, Missouri, The Doe Run Company is a privately held natural resources company and one of the largest lead producers in the Western Hemisphere. This position offers a competitive base pay and is eligible for the Company variable pay (bonus) plan.  Benefits start on the first day and include insurance, paid time off, and various customer discount programs. 

Education & Experience:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
  • At least one year of experience in mining.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  

  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Etc), Drafting (AutoCAD), Database (Pi, MS SQP Server, Access, Acquire), AS400 or similar mining database.

  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong data management skills.

Job Responsibilities:  

  • Gather information for potential data analytics use cases. Analyze and target high-value areas for improvement. Assess the business value of and facilitate selections of improvement focus areas.
  • Provide data analysis and run economic impact analysis projects.
  • Share data analytics with operational teams and facilitate problem solving, root cause analysis, and development of implementation plans.
  • Monitor key metrics and/or develop data collection systems to track overall performance.
  • Provide liaison between operations and data developers, provide input for modifications of data sources, and resolution of data quality issues.
  • Provide site managers with technical support and project management.
  • Provide training and support on analytics to others.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Environmental Conditions, Physical & Lifting Requirements:  

  • Regularly required to use a computer/tablet; Rarely required to use a phone/radio.
  • Regularly work in an office environment. Frequently required to work underground. Occasionally required to work near moving mechanical parts. May be exposed to moderate noise levels. Required to wear PPE when underground.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time, talk and hear; Occasionally required to use repetitive motion and reach with hands/arms. Requires clarity of vision and three-dimensional vision.
  • Occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds.
