JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the safety and well-being of each patron utilizing the pool and adjacent areas, enforcing rules and regulations consistently and performing general maintenance and housekeeping functions as required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The fundamental duties and tasks that define the job.

1. Monitors and maintains swimmer safety at all times.
2. Responds promptly and performs swimmer rescue and/or first aid as necessary.
3. Maintains general appearance and cleanliness of assigned area.
4. Performs general housekeeping of assigned area
5. Maintains water safety equipment.
6. Performs chemical reading on pH and chlorine levels and water temperature.
7. Assists with assigned recreational programs.
8. Assists and teaches swim lessons. 
9. Performs related duties as assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be 16 years of age or older
• Completion of 10^th grade level in high school or higher
• Ability to work weekends, holidays and evenings
• Prior to employment, must hold current nationally recognized:

• Lifeguard Training Certificate (not required for Swim Instructor position)
• CPR for the Professional Rescuer Certificate
• Standard First Aide Certificate
• Must successfully complete a background check and drug test

Classes may be available at reduced or no fee for Lifeguard Training, CPR and Standard First Aide Certificates.
