Job Description

United States University is looking for experienced Online Adjunct Faculty to join the College of Education.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Asynchronous teaching in a virtual environment with a diverse student population
  • Engage students in meaningful asynchronous threaded discussions at least four days per week, evaluating responses and responding to questions or comments
  • Evaluate students' course content comprehension through grading of assignments, quizzes, papers, or presentations
  • Bring your real-life experiences into the classroom through announcements, feedback, discussion responses, and grading
  • Empower students to learn and grow through evidence-based feedback and guidance
  • Set clear expectations and guidelines for each course in accordance with university policies
  • Utilize effective professional communication in providing clear directions, feedback, and promoting student learning
  • Attend virtual faculty meetings when you are able or watch recordings to stay current on policies
  • Be available to students by answering emails within 24 hours
  • Qualifications of faculty and other instructional personnel must include, but are not limited to: a) current knowledge of the content; b) knowledge of the current context of public schooling including the California adopted P-12 content standards, frameworks, and accountability systems; c) knowledge of diversity in society, including diverse abilities, culture, language, ethnicity, and gender orientation; and d) demonstration of effective professional practices in teaching and learning, scholarship, and service.

Education

  • Master's or Doctorate degree from accredited institution depending on program requirements

Credentials/Certifications

  • Specific credentials/certifications may be required depending on program requirements

Adjunct Compensation

  • Course contracts are paid semi-monthly and range from $150 - $3,500 depending on instruction level and student count
