    JOB REQUISITION - Westbrook High School

    The Westbrook School Department is seeking a Biology Teacher to serve as Long Term Substitute beginning April 27, 2026 and lasting through the end of the school year. We are looking for a candidate with experience working with a team of educators to plan lessons, units and assessments and who has experience working with special education and multilingual learners, and is skilled in differentiation and the application of 21st Century teaching and learning strategies. Additionally, the candidate should be familiar with SEL and other holistic practices that help students access their academics and enrich their lives. Finally, this candidate should reflect a teacher whose academic strength is matched by a love of teaching and demonstrated range and flexibility to reach diverse students. The ideal candidate will be fully certified with fingerprinting and a favorable background check.

    Westbrook High School is proud to serve the City of Westbrook. Our learners represent 27 different countries of origin and speak over 15 languages other than English. The needs of individual learners are recognized and met through the work of our exemplary staff and diverse programming. We offer a wide range of extracurricular clubs, activities and athletic teams. Finally, we are proud to prepare students for the Seal of Bi-Literacy through our Multilingual Learner programming and our Modern and Classical Language courses. Westbrook High School has become a springboard for students to join the military, enter the workforce or go onto college through relevant and rigorous coursework and the guidance of our Aspirations Counselor and Student Services Department.
