Job Description

Regis Jesuit High School is seeking a Substitute Coordinator/Teacher to begin in August. The Substitute Coordinator supports all subbing needs of the school by coordinating, organizing and fulfilling all short-term substitute requests, This individual also coordinates long-term subs for teachers who are out with extended absences for instances such as FAMLI. Ideally, the Substitute Coordintor will also teach one class per semester (if available). The Coordinator position is .8 and teaching is .2. The salary will be based on the Faculty Salary Scale, BA, Tier 1, 1.0 ($55,215). A full benefits package is available. Essential Job Functions

Among other duties that may be assigned, the Full-Time Substitutes will do the following:

  • Organize and coordinate subbing requests
  • Routinely check the Advanced Absence forms and spreadsheet
  • Be available by phone to take last-minute, emergency sub requests
  • Sub each period available and determine other faculty members to sub when the full-time subs are unavailable
  • Communicate to teachers who will be absent and to teachers who will be subbing; ensure lesson plans are shared between the absent teacher and the substitute
  • Determine lists of periods that teachers will sub, which is based on preference and open slots for subbing
  • Assist with academic duties such as proctoring final exams and standardized tests
  • Manage subbing data
  • Uphold the student handbook and faculty expectations when subbing
  • Offer updates to the principal regarding subbing numbers, challenges and needs
  • Help prefect co-curricular events such as athletics and dances
  • Participate in student retreats, masses, service opportunities and orientation programs
Requirements (Education, Experience, Required/Preferred Skills)
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to abide by strict confidentiality rules
