#TeamBergmann is looking for a Survey Technician! 

Minimum Qualifications: All candidates must be willing to travel, have an associates' degree in a related field, and should have at least 2 years+ prior experience doing field surveys. You must have proficient CAD experience to create maps. A valid driver’s license is required for this role.   Prior experience with Microstation is preferred.

  • Advanced operational understanding of the appropriate survey software and equipment
  • Mechanical aptitude 
  • Understanding of safe working/operating methods of assigned tools and equipment 
  • Valid driver’s license required  

What You’ll Be Doing: 

  • Read and understand plans and specifications 
  • Conduct field surveys outdoors in all seasons/weather conditions
  • Analyze reports, maps, drawings, etc. in order to plan and complete a survey project 
  • Contribute to reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, and designs for project; Assist with proposal development and getting signed agreements from clients. 
  • Perform field surveys, including but not limited to horizontal and vertical control surveys, construction layout, residential and commercial properties including utilities, topographic and aerial group control surveys, boundary and ALTA surveys, railway surveys, laser scanning equipment, and aerial drones
  • Perform office duties, including data reduction, field note reduction, calculations, data checks, staking computations, and drafting 
  • Ensure survey work meets Bergmann and client standards and that staff is educated in those standards; Oversee projects and review work of non-licensed surveyors 
  • Attend jobsite specific safety training provided at client site as needed 
  • May stamp/sign drawings or reports and/or serve as Surveyor of Record for the project

Percentage of Time Spent Traveling and Where: Travel will vary based on the location of the individual (10-50%), including overnight travel to client sites within the United States, Mexico, and Canada
