PROFILE OF A LIBERTY HILL EDUCATOR

PRIMARY PURPOSE
Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of campus-wide behavior support
systems and practices, using data to drive decision-making and ensure alignment with district
expectations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification
● Valid Texas teaching certificate or school counseling certification required; Special
Education certification preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
● Knowledge of social skills and behavioral intervention techniques and methodology
● Knowledge of varying needs of learners
● Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience
● Experience supporting student behavior interventions, MTSS, or social-emotional learning
programs required.

Instructional Management

● Designs and provides professional learning to teachers and administrators.
● Uses data to guide campuses in providing behavioral and social skills instruction and
support to students to improve social and behavioral skills
● Works with campus staff to design and guide implementation of Tier One and Tier Two
behavior systems and supports targeted Tier Three behavioral interventions as needed.
● Collaborates with teachers, assistant principals, school counselors, special education staff,
and administrators to design and develop research-based best practices related to
behavior for individual students and small groups of students.
● Collaborate with campus staff to support implementation of strategies that promote student
success in the least restrictive environment, in alignment with MTSS processes and ARD
decisions, as applicable.
● Monitors the effectiveness of behavior intervention plans and provides recommendations to
campus administration to address student needs.
● Communicates with families regarding student progress as needed.
● Assists teachers with the implementation of social-emotional learning lesson planning,
lesson modeling, classroom management, and behavior management.
● Supports campuses in the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) process to set up
effective systems.
● Supports the implementation of campus crisis behavior plans and provides assistance
during crisis situations in alignment with district protocols and training.
● Provides targeted direct behavioral intervention and social skills support for students across
Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 settings, as needed, to support campus behavior systems.
● Support campus teams in collecting and analyzing behavioral data and developing
and monitoring behavior intervention plans for students with identified needs.
Training and Staff Development
● Partners with the Special Education Department to support training of teachers and staff in
district-approved restraint protocols..
● Provides guidance and support to staff on de-escalation strategies and effective behavior
management practices.
● Provides coaching and modeling to teachers and staff on de-escalation strategies,
classroom management, and effective responses to challenging behavior.
● Provide coaching to campus staff as directed by the campus administrator to support
student progress.
● Provide training to campus staff regarding behavior intervention strategies.
● Provides training and support for parents regarding the continuum of services available to
students.

● Pursues continuous improvement and growth in the knowledge of social-emotional learning
and behavior intervention strategies, methodologies, and analysis.
Family Engagement
● Provide parent engagement activities to increase parent awareness of continuum of
services available to students and strategies that can be implemented across settings to
support students
● Collaborates with families to develop and reinforce behavior supports across home and
school settings
● Provides resources and guidance to families to support student behavior and
social-emotional development at home
● Facilitates communication between school staff and families to support student progress
and consistency of interventions
● Coordinates or supports family workshops, meetings, or events focused on behavior,
student support, and the continuum of services provided in the school setting.
Other
● Follows district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
● Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials,
and facilities.
● Compiles, maintains, and files required reports, records, and data related to behavior
support and student interventions.
● Stays informed of and complies with federal, state, district, and school regulations and
policies related to student behavior and support services.
● Performs other duties as assigned by the campus principal.
