The Key Purpose of this role is to execute effective daily routes for Distribution Centre’s (DC’s) using available routing tools. The Distribution Planner II responsibility is to ensure distribution KPI targets are achieved whilst maintaining customer service and productivity expectations for the DC which they look after. This requires daily interactions and routines with the distribution teams.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Set-up & maintenance of inter-related system platforms (Sap, Winroute, SharePoint)
SAP master-data implementation protocol
WinRoute planning database maintenance and optimising settings and governance is met on all Master Data
WinRoute road-network database maintenance on correct speeds for data from Maps
Effective utilisation of planning systems, creating daily distribution load plans according to KPI targets
Manage & plan today loads to efficiently maximize daily volume capacities
Planning distribution load plans for multiple depots within prescribed time frame as and when required
Load plan execution performance at an operational level and constructively feedback to drive improvement/ driver & short cycle feedback
Daily engagement with on-site Expeditors on execution of load plan
Daily engagement with DC teams regarding planning instructions
Clearing & maintaining SAP T2 platforms
Core project work
Drive LCP improvement and implementation
Key Attributes and Competencies:
Sound business and financial acumen
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word and knowledge of SAP
Strong analytical ability demonstrated
Good performance track record
Strong interpersonal skills
Minimum Requirements:
Relevant 3-year tertiary qualification
2 – 3 years functional work and planning experience in a FMCG environment
Applicable Occupational Health and Safety Act of 93, South African Road Traffic Act and governance knowledge beneficial
