Description
 

The HRIS Analyst is an intermediate position within the HRIS structure. The primary focus of this position is the support and maintenance of the Human Resource Management System in addition to other systems supported by the HRIS team (i.e. LMS, Recruiting, Time Keeping, HR Portal, etc.). 

 

This individual serves as a technical point-of-contact for functional areas and assists with ensuring data integrity, testing of system/configuration changes, report writing and analyzing data flows for process improvement opportunities.

 

The HRIS Analyst also supports internal release upgrades, testing and other technical projects as assigned.

 

Production Support (% of time: 30)

Provide support for HRMS including, but not limited to, researching and resolving HRMS problems, unexpected results or process flaws; perform scheduled activities; recommend solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements.

 

System Maintenance (% of time: 20)

Assist in the review, testing and implementation of HRMS system upgrades or patches. Collaborate with functional and technical staff to coordinate application of upgrade or fix. Maintain HRMS system tables. Document process and results.

 

Projects/Process Improvement (% of time: 25)

Recommend process/customer service improvements, innovative solutions, policy changes and/or major variations from established policy that must be approved by appropriate leadership prior to implementation. Serve as a key liaison with third parties and other stakeholders (e.g. payroll). Use project management skills in managing projects. May perform project management for a given HR initiative.

 

Reports/Queries (% of time: 20)

Write, maintain and support a variety of reports or queries utilizing appropriate reporting tools. Assist in development of standard reports for ongoing customer needs. Help maintain data integrity in systems by running queries and analyzing data.

 

Training (% of time: 5)

Develop user procedures, job aids, guidelines and documentation. Train clients on new processes/functionality. Train new system users.

 

  Qualifications

  • Three to five years of HRIS / HR generalist or specialist experience. System implementation experience. HCM module experience – 2-3 years.
  • Strong understanding of HR processes and data, including eligibility and enrollment rules, and benefit procedures in order to ensure correct implementation.
  • Strong understanding of HRMS database design, structure, functions and processes, and experience with databases tools.
  • Thorough knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with an HRMS such as PeopleSoft, Lawson, ADP, Oracle etc. 
  • Effective organizational and interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous exposure to project-related activities through active participation in system-related projects.
