Entry-level candidates need not have any prior law school teaching experience but must show significant promise for excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. In addition to teaching courses in the School of Law, faculty responsibilities will include (1) contributing to the scholarly mission of the School; (2) advising and mentoring students; and (3) participating in law school and University service as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor from an ABA-approved law school
- Exemplary academic record
- Successful completion of the bar exam in at least one U.S. state
- Demonstrated interest in teaching and student mentorship and in creating an inspiring, welcoming, and dynamic learning environment for all students
- Clear commitment to legal scholarship
- Excellent interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with other law school faculty and staff
- Willingness to contribute actively to the mission, vision, and objectives of the School and University
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant experience in the practice of law or in a related professional field
- Prior teaching experience at a law school or graduate school.
- Record of scholarly publications and presentations that contribute to the improvement of the law, legal education, and/or the legal profession
- Active engagement is with professional organizations, such as discipline-specific organizations and bar associations
