Responsibilities

The Echo Tech performs standard cardiac ultrasounds, electroencephalogram (EEG), and electrocardiogram (EKG), including but not limited to transesophageal echo (TEE) and stress echoes, ensuring the delivery of quality patient care.


Qualifications

Job Requirements: 

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Certificate of completion from an accredited Cardiac Ultrasound program; One year of formal training at an accredited School of Cardiac Technology.
  • Registered sonographer (ARDMS or CCI/RCA) or required within 1 year of hire.
  • 2+ years’ experience in a similar position.
  • Ability to administer, read, and interpret EKG strips within 6 months of hire.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

  • Must be available on call and on holidays.
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of normal vascular anatomy and hemodynamics, as well as the major disease processes of the Cerebral Vascular and Peripheral Vascular systems.

Preferred Job Requirements:  

  • Neuro-anatomy course.

 

 

Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
