Job Summary and Description
The Senior
Construction Purchaser is responsible for leading procurement processes,
identifying and screening suppliers, negotiating terms and conditions,
improving supplier service levels, improving business results, and
standardizing procurement of best practice processes. Manage major capital and
construction projects and related services to ensure efficiency and
compliance with the procurement processes. Responsible for all procurement
aspects of projects for the Capital Improvement Program. Service as the liaison
between architects, construction managers, relocation firms, college
departments including facilities and construction, finance and purchasing.

Reports to the
Assistant Director of Purchasing.

 Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or a combination of relevant experience, education and training that equates to the required degree.
  • Five (5) years of professional construction procurement experience, to include at least (3) years of related experience in an educational institutional or governmental setting.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Experience in a public agency
    or educational institution.
  • Knowledge and understanding of
    construction procurement terminology and experience working on large capital
    programs or public works contracts.

Licenses and Certifications:

  •  Prefer Public Purchasing
    certification including NIGP-CPP, CBB, CPPO, CPCM, CTCM, or CTCD.
